It started over twenty years ago, with a baby.

When I was younger, I thought I didn’t want to be a mother.

Then, in 2000, I became a mother. Then twice! Everything changed, especially in my heart. They grew and grew (now young adults). Then, quite unexpectedly, I became a mother again, as I closed out my 45th year. What?!?

It was one of those situations where if you knew how hard it would be, you might not have done it. So, thank goodness, I didn’t know. The journey since has been full of reflection, cherishing, and heartache, as my older kids grow up and out, while my little one learns to read.

My spiritual life has expanded most unexpectedly too, as I have grown to fill this role again, and process all that’s come before. And out of this time has grown a strong calling to work with motherhood spirituality. Chamomile is what came of this calling, offering women spaces of respite to consider their inner landscapes and honor the incredible work they do in the world.

I’m Anne Marie Jacob, mother of three and partner to David. I work in the field of senior living during the weekdays, hold a bachelor’s degree in social work from George Fox University, and a certificate in the Art of Spiritual Direction through San Francisco Theological University, with a specific emphasis on motherhood spirituality. I am also a part of the Spiritual Director Community that provides spiritual direction for George Fox University’s Doctor of Psychology Program students.

I’d love to talk with you about how I can offer support for your journey. I offer individual sessions and occasional events or groups . Please see my contact page if you’d like to look into the possibility of spiritual direction together!
